Grayhill's 62AG series are general purpose, low-resolution optical encoders used as "human-to-machine" interface devices for scroll and select applications. The 62AG series is the most cost effective optical encoder on the market. This has been achieved by developing a patented technology that reduces the switch's bill of materials, thereby reducing material costs and assembly steps. At higher volumes, this technology makes the 62AG price competitive with mechanical encoders while providing superior reliability and performance. The 62AG series is currently available with 16 and 32 detent positions per rotation rated to 1 million cycles, and available with or without a center pushbutton. As with most Grayhill encoders, the shaft configuration and switch termination can easily be custom configured to meet unique requirements.
