NetBurner core modules allow you to quickly and easily create an embedded product, create a network-enabled product, or add network connectivity to an existing product. These modules offer diverse functionality, used either as the main processor or as a secondary network co-processor. NetBurner Core Modules fit onto an end product's circuit board as a daughter card. The processor I/O is available through a standard header or mini PCI Express connector.
Several modules are footprint and API compatible, enabling migration with minimal impact on the mother board hardware design. The ColdFire processor I/O is routed directly from the processor to the module I/O pins. This makes the Freescale Semiconductor ColdFire User's Manual a complete reference to internal peripheral and I/O configuration registers. The high performance of the core processor, external bus, and serial interfaces lends itself to being the core processor of an entire product. Adding peripherals is as simple as adding them to the bus and configuring the chip select to address the new peripheral. The serial ports offer high bandwidth and a rich feature set. The serial ports have partially full and partially empty interrupt capability. This allows the processor to service the ports with no interruption in data flow.
The NetBurner Core Module solution you need depends on your particular application requirements. The first step is to choose a product based on form and function. Below you will find descriptions of the solutions NetBurner offers that help to compare the functionality of different NetBurner products.
