Power-Distribution Switch: TPS2556 / TPS2557: OMO Electronic TPS2556 and TPS2557 precision adjustable current-limited power distribution switches are intended for applications requiring precision current limiting or dealing with heavy capacitive loads and short circuits. These TI power distribution switches offer a programmable current-limit threshold between 500mA and 5.0A (typical) via an external resistor. The TI TPS2556 and TPS2557 limit the output current to a safe level by switching into a constant-current mode when the output load exceeds the current-limit threshold. The TPS2556 and TPS2557 power distribution switches feature fast overcurrent response of 3.5 µS (typical) and are designed for use in USB ports/hubs, digital TVs, set-top boxes, VOIP phones, and more.
