NB679 Synchronous Buck Converters
Monolithic Power Systems NB679/NB679A Synchronous Buck Converters are designed as fully integrated, high-frequency, synchronous, rectified, step-down, switch-mode converters with a fixed 5/5.1V output. The NB679A converters also feature low-power mode voltage scaling. Available in a QFN-12 2mm x 3mm package, NB679/NB679A converters offer a very compact solution to achieve an 8A continuous output current and a 10A peak output current over a wide input supply range with excellent load and line regulation. Based on MPS proprietary switching loss reduction technology and internal Low Ron Power MOSFETs, the NB679/NB679A converters operate at high efficiency over a wide output current load range. Adaptive Constant-On-time (COT) control mode provides fast transient response and eases loop stabilization. The DC auto-tune loop offers good load and line regulation. NB679/NB679A also provides a fixed 5V LDO, which designers can use to power the external peripheries. Full protection features include over-current protection (OCP), under-voltage protection (UVP), and thermal shutdown (TSD). Requiring a minimum of external components, NB679/NB679A synchronous buck converters are ideally suited for laptop computers, tablet PCs, networking systems, flat panel televisions & monitors, distributed power systems.Learn More
