AVX now offers an additional TLN PulseCap series of high-capacitance, low-profile tantalum capacitors. These capacitors are designed for applications such as solid-state drives, PCMCIA/USB wireless express cards, smart meters, GPS transmitters, or GSM high speed wireless data handling where bulk capacitance is needed to boost transmitter power.

These large case size tantalum products have a capacitance range of 1000 μF to 3300 μF. A maximum case height of 2 mm makes them ideal for reduced-height applications. The "undertab" termination style, where traditional "J" leads are replaced by terminations that do not protrude outside of the outline of the case, increases volumetric efficiency and allows parts to be positioned very closely together, delivering significant space savings.
