Miniature High Frequency Fundamental VCXOs

CTS introduces a family of high frequency fundamental VCXOs in 5.0 mm x 3.2 mm and 7.0 mm x 5.0 mm footprints, featuring clock rates up to 250 MHz, phase jitter as low as 50 fs typical; available in HCMOS, LVPECL, and LVDS outputs, stability options of ±20 ppm, ±25 ppm, and ±50 ppm absolute pull range (APR) at ±50 ppm minimum, and linear voltage tuning over a small range. Six models in this series provide the design engineer low cost, spacing saving, and high performance solutions for their complex electronic systems.

The CTS VCXOs support multiple market segments covering telecommunications, computer processing, consumer, and industrial electronics, delivering superior phase noise performance, a high level of frequency stability, and economy of scale. For example, when coupled with a phase locked loop (PLL) device, it provides the tuning function that synchronizes a transceiver output to an input source, maintaining phase lock, cleaning unwanted jitter, and yielding a signal that keeps data integrity intact.
