Maxim's MAX-HEALTH-BAND is a development and an evaluation platform, which includes a heart-rate and activity monitor, that enables designers to extract vital signs and raw data for their wearable designs. The platform is based on small, power-efficient ICs including the MAX86140 optimized optical pulse oximeter/heart rate sensor and the MAX20303 wearable power management solution, as well as Maxim's motion-compensated algorithms.
Features
- Streamlines design cycle by eliminating the extra 6 to 9 months of design time typically required for building and prototyping
- Demonstrates system-level performance at the IC level
- Can be used to evaluate AFEs and PMICs
- Delivers highly accurate physiological data
- Motion-compensated algorithms extract useful data based on PPG signals
- Accurately tracks heart-rate, heart-rate variability, step count, and activity classification
- Supports development of small and power-efficient applications
- ICs inside the platform require less than half the power compared to competitive solutions, allowing the platform to last for seven days on a single charge
- ICs are also about one-third smaller than competitive solutions
